XML Sitemap Validator
Paste sitemap XML and get a structural report: whether it parses, whether it uses the sitemap namespace, and whether each URL entry has a valid location. This checks structure only; it cannot confirm that every listed URL actually exists or is indexable.
Structure only. This does not fetch listed URLs or check indexability.
What this tool cannot do
Structure only. It does not fetch the listed URLs, check their status codes, or verify indexability.
How to use it
- Paste your sitemap XML.
- Click Validate.
- Fix any parse errors or entries without a loc element, then re-validate.
Frequently asked questions
What does a parse error mean?
The XML is malformed — for example an unclosed tag or an unescaped & in a URL. Fix the XML, not the URLs, first.
Must every URL be absolute?
Yes, sitemap locations should be full absolute URLs on the same site.
